      Colloquio

Started with a recruiter reaching out to me, then a phone call with the hiring manager, then a number of interviews in person with different managers. The last set of interviews felt like interviewing for 3+ different jobs. I don't think it was on purpose - I think the interviewers lacked cohesion or are not on the same page for what the job is supposed to be. The role described in person was very different from the role described on the phone. At the end of the process, the offer was low considering I was fulfilling a hard to fill experienced need that they had spent a lot of time searching - and it was less than what I currently make in a higher cost of living area. Note that this wasn't a job I was looking for as a recruiter reached out to me when I'm not actively searching for a job. It's unclear to me if this was a tactic or if the hiring manager is unaware of the ranges being posted or discussed by recruiters. Either way, salary was discussed up front in the very first interview with the recruiter, and to spend 2 months interviewing and to give a low ball offer without negotiation is a waste of time for everyone.
