After receiving a call for interview. I scheduled a early fly from Boston to Oklahoma City to attend it. I went to preliminary interview. The hiring manger is also the CEO of the company. He is not in suite but just T-shirt and tie. He was nice and ask my skills and career goal then taking note on my resume. Then he talked about the clients and functions of the company. He talked a lot about financial numbers that I can help to increase for the clients. Finally, he reviewed the job is flied service, typically I would be a brand ambassador for Cox, Direct TV at Sam Club. There is nothing involved Marketing but Sales. I asked him couple basic question in Marketing, he answered in very little confidence. Then, I told him I don't work in Sales. He persuaded me to attend second round interview to understand more the nature of the work. I think I should give it a chance to see if the work is like what I thought or I have a bias on it. Therefore, I went second interview with an Account Manager. He asked me to drive following for 25 minutes to the location for flied service. When we were there, he has to set up the table for ads because the "brand ambassador" was not there at the time. He asked me couple question about the services and he was a bit frustrated when I asked him back. He said he don't have that corporate mind, he doesn't know marketing at that level. Then he and I played rolls for a demonstration how he would do every time meeting customer. I was client so keep asking about the services of the products and question on how him would make me switch to the new services in term of value. He can't give persuasive answers. He said I'm not potential client so he would stop to talk to me and move to other people. He was sweating in entire conversation. I don't know why. I told him I'm not the right fit. I believe he thoughts the same so he called the manager I'm not passed. I never went to 3rd interview. I think the ad and the real "job" that they post are not the same.
I think I wasted money and time for it. But it was a good lesson for fresh job seeker like me.
Read review before heading to an interview
