On the interview day they have you take a 50 question multiple choice test (fairly easy) a PAT test (lift a 70lb barbell up and down a flight of steps, CPR compressions for 3 full minutes, walk up and down a step for 2-4 minutes, assemble an oxygen tank, ventilate a dummy for 5 breaths make sure you give 1 breath every 5-6 seconds, remove / place stretcher in and out of ambulance, carry a jump bag across the room and squat with it, perform a log roll on a dummy and drag it across the room) they also check your BP and heart rate before and after, you have to take a urine test and get measured for your uniform & a 1 on 1 interview that lasted me about 3 minutes If you pass that you get emailed within 24 hours (they emailed me in 1) for continuing the application process which includes a 5 day 40 hour orientation process. the starting pay for Full Time is $13 and hour, after 30 days you bump up to $15 if you get into the 911 system its another $3 increase. You are on a 90 day probation period. part time workers make .50 cents less.
