Colloquio
Submitted application to hiring committee, didn't hear back for a long time. All the emails from staff were terse--cordial but vaguely unfriendly and slightly disrespectful, perhaps it was simply an air of superiority? Whatever the tone was, it made me a bit worried about what it would be like to actually work there day in and day out.
During the interview they asked a lot about my writing sample, not as much about law school or other experience. Maybe they had already decided not to hire me, but I didn't get the vibe of people interested in learning more about me. If so, then they were nice enough, I guess.

Colloquio
I initially did a phone interview and was eventually brought in for an in-person interview. For the most part, the interview went great. I was excited to meet the attorneys I would be working with and the types of cases seemed interesting. As I was leaving however (due to COVID restrictions) I had to walk through a different door than I came in. This required me to walk through the office, passing the attorney and staff offices. Everyone (and I mean everyone) looked miserable. This was enough for me to reject the job offer I later received. There are a lot of excellent lawyers at SGR and I have no doubt I would have learned a lot. I just couldn't stomach working for a place where everyone appeared unhappy. Hopefully things have changed post-pandemic.

I don't remember specifics as it was a number of years ago but I'm sure we discussed my background.
