Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso SentinelOne nel mese di mar 2024
Colloquio
SentinelOne staff appeared to still be figuring out the required skills and applicant criteria during the interview process.
Advice: don't waste your time
The process started out as usual:
1. Recruiter phone screen
2. 30-min interview with VP of product
3. Panel of four 45-minute interviews (eng, support, product, hiring manager)
4. Take-home exercise
After assigning a writing assignment for the take-home exercise: “What is the most inventive or innovative thing you have done professionally?", they changed it to a 30-minute presentation to the panel plus two senior leaders about evaluating a build/partner/buy decision.
The stated criteria were: "presentation skills, strong business case/perspective, ability to take feedback and iterate"
During the preparation period, I created a draft deck and provided it to them via Loom for feedback. Based on the limited feedback that I received, I course corrected. For the presentation, I developed an evaluation framework, financial models for three scenarios (build/partner/buy), and a high-quality presentation slide deck. No slide template was provided, so I used their public style guide to produce my own brand-compliant deck.
After my presentation (<15 minutes, within the target number of slides, with ~30 backups that I referenced during questioning), I was asked question by each panelist. There was no natural discussion during the questioning period, it was conducted more as an interrogation. The only feedback I received at the very end was, "We'll be in touch shortly; good job".
I was rejected with the reason "not enough technical depth" in the presentation. This was not a stated criteria.
