Round based on-site. Met with the current senior network engineer, director of operations, SVP of operations, and the VP of People. Appreciated the ability to touch the various tiers of the business and get exposure to how they were thinking and what they were focusing on in terms of direction and how that mapped back to infrastructure. Overall very friendly and direct atmosphere. I got the impression the on-site was more of a personality check to see if I'd be a good fit for the team, as opposed to truly evaluating my skills and offerings as an architect. As a counter-balance to this I was able to ask many questions about the current architecture and their thoughts on its direction and use those opportunities to explain how I could provide service or benefit in those areas which may or may not have been an intentional component of their interviewing strategy.
