I was contacted by the hiring manager on LinkedIn and had two initial conversations with them, which went really well. I then was scheduled for the final round which entailed four additional interviews with different team members and leaders. All in all this process took several weeks and I dedicated a lot of time to prepare. After six interviews, I did not receive a response until a week later and it was an automated email decline. After investing so much time, I would have appreciated a personal follow up directly from the hiring manager - especially since they sourced me on LinkedIn! I understand getting an automated email after one interview, but after six conversations, the right thing to do would be to reach out personally to update me that they went with another candidate.
