ATTENTION ; hire a HR manager and have them conduct interviews!!! This company has unqualified and multiple role people filter the resume selection and conduct the interview process. BIG MISTAKE.
This was my experience; It started with a phone interview, one on one (this would be the last time, hereafter it was always a very large out of control group). It was like pulling teeth, lots of silence, so I did what any respectable sales person would do, I took control of the conversation by basically telling him about my experiences.
Next: They invited me to a go to meeting with camera. Ok. They had me demo an application of my choice. My demo was exceptional from the feedback I received. Very large group, that consisted pretty much of random people of different department in the company. Why?
Next: I get a hurried call saying I made a great impression, and I was invited to go to Cincinnati for an on-site interview. I drove 4 ½ hours each way. They kept me past the time that was scheduled. Then they invited me to lunch, I had lunch with 7 employees, a good sign one would think. Everything seemed to have gone well. EXCEPT, they choose this moment to tell me that they don’t pay on the second year but you are expected to sell a two-year contract. Oh and the salary is below industry standards, its 60,000. Red flag. The questions asked were not typical and all over the board of topics. I could see that this group had no training in interviewing, there were some inappropriate questions asked. They made me uncomfortable when they spoke unkindly about their competition, but I carried on.
I drove home and waited for them to check my references that they asked for and an offer. I was undecided on if I would accept or not. I liked the software and knew I could sell it but I was unsure about the people. Unfortunately, my impression of them is they are extremely indecisive and incompetent, they are very suspicious which leaves me to believe they are not trust worthy themselves. RED FLAG NUMBER TWO.
Next: I get a call inviting me to another call, video go to meeting. I was going to be tested on Excel and Word???? What??? Why? I pushed back and asked questions? Why wasn’t this done before I drove to Ohio? Nine hours round trip. RED FLAG RED FLAG! But at this point I invested so much time, I carried on regretfully. Was this the plan all along? Get you to invest time so you accept a deal you normally would walk away from?
The call was nothing short of a cluster. First, they again invited pretty much the entire company!!! Imagine. Bad audio. Peoples faces on the screen. Me trying to navigate their screen from my laptop and they ask me to role play! Ring ring. Hello this is so and so calling from….. you cannot make this up. I have 15 years sales exp with 7 years of that being with one software company. And here I was role playing a basic first step intro call. Meanwhile they give me control of their screen so I can make notes in Salesforce as I role play. While I am being watched on camera.
I was embarrassed for them. Would an HR professional ever approve this sort of circus? It was belittling. Demeaning and juvenile. AS I write this I have yet to hear back. BE Aware I HAVE YET TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF THE TRIP. They have no respect for your time. IF this is the interview what might it be like to work for them? NO THANKS.
In their defense - there was another review that stated they hired the person, then fired him after two days, that was in Jan so this is most likely the same position. Clearly, they have the need to be extra careful. The problem is that they are asking all the wrong questions, and they are focused on all the wrong tests/assessments. They are letting good people fall through the cracks. I hope someone with some pull sees this post and takes action to break away from the herd.

This was a terrible interview process. Hired me, then fired me after two days because they should have asked more of me before hiring. Never work for this company.

I filled out an application with a background authorization and then I interviewed with Human Resources and the Hiring Manager. I was then brought in for a second interview with the executive.
