How can an technical team and HR team be this incompetent?
This is for a senior role and the HR team reached out to me as I might be a good fit for the role.
I have 4.5 years of experience and it's mentioned in the first line of my resume's career summary. I cleared round one which was a test on HackerRank, followed by two levels of technical interviews.
Three technical staff who interviewed me didn't have a problem with my experience and they cleared me for a F2F interview at the office.
I had to book my tickets to Chennai to attend the interview at their office. I reach the office and present my resume to two more technical staff during the interview.
I come back home and receive a call three days later saying that I did not clear the interview. The reason? I didn't have enough experience for a senior role.
Excuse me? Isn't that the job of the HR team? How come a total of 5 technical staff overlook that aspect and then at the last moment decide that I don't have enough experience.
The worst part is my performance feedback from each of the round was great and they all agree I'm a capable candidate. Yet the sole problem is that I don't have "enough" experience.

Interview was good. There were two rounds both easy to moderate. They asked question from Java 8 streams. Apart from that they asked about java functionalty. Questions from java 8 interface were asked.

Worst interview experience. I was asked to reach the place at 9 A. M. by consultant, when I reached there I found they have called around 200+ people.
Panel came at 11 A. M. and started with a MCQ test on java when they eliminated around 90% people. Then they again asked 10/20 people to leave for the day and they will call them on other day.
I was one of final luck candidate to make it to top 10. Then they started with interviews, they were very slow with the interview process and my turn came at 3:30 P. M. for the first round of interview.
Interview was average and I cleared it. Till the time I gave my first interview HR has left for the day. Then interviewer came and communicated me and 2-3 more people that they are leaving for the day and will call me in next week for second round.
It has been more than 3 weeks but none of us have received any call from either consultant or company.
When I called HR she gave lame excuses like panel is working to figure out dates for second round, it is raining heavily so panel unable to come to office and then she stopped answering my call.
They wasted my entire day and the money I spent.
I would advise don't go for there interview they don't respect talent.
