      Colloquio

Interviewing here was pretty easy, I will give Veriship props because they were very efficient in how they handled the process. I heard back very quick on the times. I was interested in Veriship because one of my colleagues works there in a different department, and has raved about the company and their culture. The first interview was a very pleasant experience and seemed to be in line with what he had always talked about. I had the first interview with the head of the sales department and it was very professional and insightful. We had a good chat and it was clearly outlined what the roles and responsibilities of the job were, and all my questions and concerns were answered about the role. I was really impressed so we mutually agreed to move to the second interview which is with the Sales team leads I'd be reporting to if I got the position. This is where the interview process became negative for me. I came into it very excited after the first part because it went so well. The second part of the interview I would say was a mediocre/bad experience. It was on video chat with the two sales leads, however only one of them appeared on the camera while the other sat out of sight. I assume this was due to social distancing issues with Covid. Nevertheless it made part of the interview very impersonal and odd that I was the only one on camera when talking to one of the leads. The leads gave me the vibe that they were not interested in interviewing me and made me felt like I was just a bother and wasting their time because I was applying for this entry level position which was outside my normal line of work. They were not really interested in talking about my professional background or what skills I brought to the table, more so what I wanted to do later on in life or more personal life questions. I was asked a few questions about how I reacted to situations relevant to sales, which I related my professional background to and past experiences to. Midway through the interview, one of the leads (the one off of camera who was silent a majority of the time) decided to jump in and it felt like I was getting interrogated for committing a crime. I was asked repeatedly why I wanted to try sales instead of continue in my current field, which I explained to them I was wanting to take my career in a different direction and learn something new which is why I applied for an entry level role. I understand this may be part of their process for their department to see how people handle pressure, but it came off disrespectful and made me think they were insulted at me for being interested in what they do and interviewing for a position. A red flag for me too was when I asked them questions towards the end about the company and what they liked the most about working there. One of the leads was very insightful about why they love their job and had true passion, the other one only said "unlimited PTO" which was a little alarming because when compared to the other lead it came off like they didn't really care for their job. The biggest turn off in the interview was a question they asked me that was pretty silly and lighthearted, which I assumed was supposed to be for fun. However, it led to one of the leads implying that I might be interested in pedophilia as a joke. It was extremely awkward and I didn't really know how to respond to that but nervously laugh. I can say I've never experienced that sort of unprofessonalism in my entire career when I've interviewed for a job. I wasn't even going to write a review because I have other things to worry about, but I talked to some of my friends and family about this experience and they said I should share it. I ultimately was not offered the job, but it made no difference because I wouldn't have taken it after this experience.

      Domanda 1

What do you do in your spare time? Have you competed and how did you win in the past? What position in the future do you want to be in? Why are you changing job fields? Why do you want this job?
