      Colloquio

It was a very long 4 hour interview. There were lots of situational based questions (STAR technique) and there were also two role plays carried out with interviewer. One where you are the employee and the interviewer is the customer.

      Colloquio

The first two stages of the interview process were very positive. The interviewers came across as friendly and professional, and both clearly loved their roles within the organisation. The third however, was a different story. I arrived 15 minutes early for the interview. I waited to speak to a member of staff to let them know I was there for the interview, and he promptly went to tell the interviewer. The interviewer then kept me waiting for 10 minutes after the interview was due to start, yet I had seen her wandering disinterested around the store. When she did greet me, she did not make eye contact, and it was clear that she did not want to be interviewing me. The first question she asked me was how I intended to get to the shop in question. I answered that I had done the journey via train, and it is easy for me to get to, but that I am looking at getting a car, and this will be no problem. She wrote down on her paperwork 'learning to drive'. Seeing what she had written, I did correct her, letting her know that I have a full driving licence. She replied "oh right" and did not correct what she had written down. The rest of the interview followed suit. She was rude and disinterested and spent much of the interview telling me I could not do the job. So why I had made it through the first two stages I do not know. She rarely made eye contact, and dad questions off her paperwork in a bored voice. Her attention was clearly elsewhere. At the end of the interview, she escorted me to the door, and preceded to say goodbye, once again without making eye contact. I held out my hand and thanked her for her time, forcing her to look me in the eye. Dreadful experience for a final interview, shocking treatment by the area manager. I dread to think how she treats her staff, as she appears to lack respect for other people. Disgusting that Signet allows this type of behaviour from their staff. She is a longstanding area manager for the company. Shocked and appalled.
