      Colloquio

      I applied online through LinkedIn and initially received a screening call from HR. Following that, I went through a total of six rounds of interviews: two technical rounds, one discussion with the SVP, one HR culture fit round, one with the COO, and a final round with the hiring manager. The entire process spanned about three weeks and was very well-structured and process-oriented. I genuinely enjoyed both the interviews and the overall experience.

      The interview process started off well. After the first round I had a great interview with a manager whom I talked about my experience with, and learned more about the position. This interview was followed up with a technical interview. The technical interview was going very well, but with about 20 minutes left in the scheduled slot the interviewer pulled up a live coding test. Typically a company would mention that there would be a live coding test prior to a call so it was a bit of a blindside. Although the questions were fairly simple, leaving the last 20 minutes of a call to understand the problem and provide and adequate solution is not realistic. The unfortunate part is the answers were fairly simple, but the dev environment/libraries used are ancient. Advice for the interview process: if you want engineers who can come in and update your old code, try having people work with newer code rather than continuing to look for old skills that people haven't had to work with in 5+ years. One solution provided would have worked if it was on the any of the last 5 versions of the library. It's understandable that you want familiarity with older versions of libraries, but it's more important to know more recent versions - especially if this is the direction the company is looking to move in.
