I was contacted by a person in HR who saw my resume online. The phone screen was basic and pleasant. The call concluded with the HR person saying they wanted to speak with someone within the hiring department and they would get back to me. They never did. Ghosting candidates is never acceptable--especially not when the company reached out to me. A simple email or call concluding the process would have been appropriate.
