Colloquio
The entire process took 3 entire months, from start to eventual finish. There were 5 separate interviews - 3 face to face and 2 over Skype. I met with 20% of the entire organisations staff during this time. The communication process was completely erratic and i had to chase them for answers/next steps on multiple occasions.
As part of the interview process i was asked to create 2 presentations for them, a sales strategy and an Employee Advocacy client presentation, which were delivered flawlessly with positive feedback all around. This took many hours of my time including the various hours spent travelling to their offices for the interviews.
I was called by a mid-level manager on a Thursday evening to offer me the role and this was confirmed via email the same day. The offer was €2300 per month plus commission which was around 50% less than the salary i requested but i believed the commission package of €1800 OTE was achievable based on my extensive sales experience, so i agreed to start on the following Monday after they had checked references.
I received a call on the Tuesday following after 2 emails chasing them again to say they were withdrawing the offer! I requested a formal explanation via email as i couldn't quite believe what i was hearing and this is the reply i received;
"In short, we have chosen not to hire you for the position previously discussed.
We wish you well in your next move and future endeavors."
This should serve as a warning to anyone considering working for Smarp. I completely dodged a bullet with this company and am happy that this happened. Do not let them waste your precious time and resources. There are many better organisations that are actually profitable and interested in attracting and retaining top talent.
