I applied online and heard back the next day that they were interested in having me for an interview. They asked for some suggested times for an initial call (so far so good). I emailed the recruiter, who did not respond. I followed up a few days later with more suggested times for the following week. No response. At this point, it has been about a week. I hear back about about two weeks after the initial email--it's an email asking if I can speak tomorrow. The recruiter is 10 minutes late to the call, but we have a nice conversation and the recruiter indicates that they would like to put me through to the next round and schedule some time with the hiring manager later in the week. Instead, I hear back two days later that they are moving forward with other candidates. Overall, a fairly negative experience (light ghosting, late call from the interviewer, poor expectation setting, little acknowledgement or accountability for candidate experience). I do like what SmartBear does and think highly of its products, but this experience did make me think that the company might be quite disorganized and might not live up to its corporate values.
