As a person of color, I am initially hestiant to apply to companies with a lack of diversity, however, based on the company's social media presence, I felt this shared sense of interest and connection with the current culture. I only had one interview that was very basic and scripted. About 10 minutes in I could tell that the interviewer wasn't interested based on her body language and facial expressions, but I am thankful that she awarded me the remaining 20 minutes of her time out of respect. Following the interview, I sent a brief upbeat thank you email, and a week later I received the industry-standard denial response.
