I was approached by a recruiter. After an initial hr screening, they requested a timed react challenge to be completed at a specified time. I declined. This was a big red flag for me. This arrangement is an inflexible approach and disrespectful of someone's time who doesn't even work for you. Unless you're unemployed, you already have existing commitments and things on go. Either request a short, 1 hr live coding session or a take-home project that can be completed at the candidate's leisure.
