When I checked the Glassdoor rating for Snapsheet after applying their score was around a 3.0 overall and a 2.8 when filtered by engineering roles. Suddenly they have a bunch of suspect 5 star reviews boosting the scores to 3.5 and 3.8 in less then three months? Definitely something dodgy going on there. As for the hiring process, after applying a recruiter scheduled a screening call. The job description seemed to be for a mix of frontend and backend work but the recruiter said the job was primarily backend. The recruiter also randomly asked a few odd technical questions that didn't match the job description. I was then told that the next steps would be a 90-120 minute HackerRank. If I passed it sounded like I would then have to meet with the hiring manager to walk through and explain my results. I decided to decline.
