The whole interview process took about 1 month with long gaps in between individual rounds. Initially I was invited for an interview with the head of the backend team, who tasked me with solving an algorithmic problem. The second round was about providing production-ready code for accessing spaceknow API. The last round was a lunch with the backend team, where I requested to send me their decision by a deadline, to which we agreed on. Unfortunately, in the end they didn’t manage to meet this requirement, but it wasn’t the biggest problem I had.
Finally, I accepted the offer and was ready for my first day. One day before my first day at work I was reached out to be told that it was cancelled, due to COVID, that supposedly broke out in the office. I received no further information, so I literally had to beg for it in e-mails. Then, after 3 days, I was finally called and said that they made a choice not to hire me at all. This information emerged “merely” 3 days AFTER my official first day, by the way. To my question “why didn’t you let me know in advance” they just said,“it is not our fault”.
