My experience with Spektrix was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
After completing the first stage, I was left in the dark for a week without knowing whether I progressed. When I followed up, they informed me that the role had shifted and that they needed to understand internally whether my skillset fit within the role.
After chasing for 2 weeks, I finally got a reply that they were now seeking a full stack engineer rather than a backend developer.
The irony? I am a full stack engineer, and this was clearly stated from the beginning.
It’s hard to understand how they could misjudge something so fundamental. Their lack of communication and clarity, coupled with wasting candidates' time on a role they weren't even sure of themselves, reflects poorly on their hiring practices.
Avoid if you're looking for a company that values your time and respects your skill set.

Their process questions doesn't really change with the years, so here's the questions for the 1st stage:
- Talk me through a project you are particularly proud of that involved web integration. What were you trying to achieve? What challenges did you overcome and how?
- You are asked to fix a bug in some legacy code you are unfamiliar with and that doesn't have any test coverage. What do you do?
While working on a piece of code you see a way to make a quick change that solves the issue you are addressing but leaves some technical debt. What would you consider in order to make the decision about whether to make that change?
- Have you pair programmed before and what do you feel its advantages/disadvantages are? If so, can you give us an example of where you have found it useful?
- Lets discuss what your ideal role looks like. What sort of technologies / projects excite or motivate you? Describe your perfect team; how do they work? Any opinions on Agile methodologies? What are the opportunities you would be looking for in your ideal role?

Colloquio
I recently went through a four-stage interview process for a senior software developer position. While the overall experience was positive in some aspects, the process was excessively long, and the lack of timely communication left me feeling frustrated and uncertain. After completing all four stages, I was informed that I would receive an answer within 3-4 days. Unfortunately, this promise was not fulfilled, and despite following up, I received no response. This lack of communication is not acceptable, especially after investing significant time and effort into the interview process. It left me with the impression that the company was unsure about its hiring decision, even after four rounds of interviews. Overall, while the interview process had positive aspects, but the excessive length and lack of communication overshadowed the experience and made this process a total waste of time.
