      Colloquio

I went for the Jan 20th interview not really knowing what to expect. Their presentation turned out to be somewhat like a high school pep rally "cheering" all of their higher-ups, and expecting the people applying for their flight attendant jobs to be the smiling face of their company while making less than minimum wage necessary to live on. A little bit above $16,000 a year. That's the con. The pro is the room was packed - - everybody there, including myself wants to be a flight attendant. . .apparently there is something about the lure of a flight attendant position that defies explanation- and common sense. And boy does Spirit ever bank on that fact with deep pockets! Because it's sure not the FA making all that money that their customers are "saving" by buying "ultra low" airfare. The interview day, much like their flights, was delay after delay after delay, after delay and waiting for someone to finally say something as to what our next step would be. I arrived around 6:45 a.m. waited in line to check in. . .check in time was suppose to start at 7 am. . only thing happening at 7 am was massive confusion- as they had invited way more than they intended to process- -a colossal waste of time for 90 percent of the people there. (They framed it in a way that made you as the applicant feel ultra selected through their "tedious" selection process . . .ie 5000 applicants narrowed down to 1500 invitations narrowed down to 300 showing up for the interview . . .narrowed down to "evasive number" actually selected for training. So after standing around for almost two hours (and not wanting to lose my spot in line by going to the bathroom) everyone is checked in and seated by 8:45 and their presentation begins. I'm already having second thoughts about this company- - but I decided to hang in there and give it my best shot. I'm thinking that they are trying to mimic their customers experience with their applicants by testing our patience!!! This company has a very high proportionate of dis-satified customers. Yes I did my research-- but the lure of being a flight attendant- even for a crappy company got the best of me. The presentation begins. Telling your already ticked off mis-informed customers that they only pay for their 4$$ and their gas in a cramped aka COZY seating arrangement - and you will know why this airline is lagging behind in customer satisfaction. I kid you not this is the "spirit" of this company and those are THEIR EXACT WORDS, MADE INTO A COMMERCIAL!!! I personally was shocked at the language they chose to use to represent themselves. It almost sounded angry. This was a very red light for me. We were divided into smaller groups, took a small break and waited for the next part of the elimination process. Our first task was to state our name and number and pick a question and answer it. If they have to ask you to repeat your number - - even if you said it clearly - - you're probably being set up to be eliminated if not in this round, certainly the next one. ( Elimination process begins as the panel of recruiters leaves the room to deliberate. When they came back a bunch of numbers are called. . .those were the people discretely eliminated. Those who stayed in the room went on to round two elimination process. This was the group activity. As a group we had to come up with our own airline and the qualities it should possess. That was actually fun/interactive and creative. You will definitely be eliminated if you're not a team player and contribute something to the group's success. Elimination process was same as before, recruiters leaving the room to deliberate and calling out the numbers of the applicants that did not make the cut. Good news. . .they said by the end of the day everyone will know if they are selected to continue in their hiring procedure. After a very short break and regrouping of remaining applicants, the face to face interviews begin.. . .they're calling people three or four at a time for Face to face interview. And the real waiting begins. You thought you waited long before. . .the wait at this point bordered on the ridiculous. Mind you they never tell you how many people they are looking to hire. It's fair to say that the longer you wait, the less chance you have of getting hired. After waiting about 3 1/2 hours the recruiters came back to inform us they had reached their maximum hiring numbers and . .at your choice you could be "rolled over" to the next face to face interviews in July or be interviewed today for July class. Since I had been waiting so long chose to be interviewed for a possible job in July. . uh. . . I mean eliminated. f

he airline’s flight attendant interview process begins with an online application, followed by an assessment day involving group exercises and role-play scenarios. Successful candidates then proceed to a 1-on-1 interview, where their communication and customer service skills are evaluated. The next stage is a uniform check to ensure professional appearance, followed by a final review. Those who pass all stages receive a training offer before starting their career. The process assesses teamwork, adaptability, and service excellence
