      I immediately lost interest. Based on my resume & no preliminary contact, I was asked to visit on-site for an interview. Usually this is a 2nd or 3rd round of interview style of meeting via phone call or video chat. I had no idea this would entirely occur in the parking lot but I never went inside the office. The hiring person was late to meet me outside, but well-prepared to go line by line down my resume. I was asked a series of questions that resulted in heavy note-taking on how each of my prior employers ran their businesses. As someone experienced in this role with highly successful well-known competitors on my resume, it gave me the sense that this company does not know what they’re doing. The role itself is a bit less typical than the title because it’s a spinoff of one person’s workload who seems to be carrying the weight of what traditionally is managed by 3 different people or departments. There was less interest in my specific skills and relevant expertise. There was more of a pervasive curiosity toward who we might mutually know. I honestly was unfamiliar with every person I was asked about. I found this strange considering I could’ve easily provided references but they were never requested. After the interview, the person I met with went back inside the office and never followed up via email or phone at all. The energy felt off from the moment I arrived. I don’t think there was ever any intention to hire. My impression (could be wrong) is that this was a one-sided informational meeting for the “hiring” person on how to structure this role. I would not work here if they asked me to.
