Colloquio
I was selected to do an aptitude test, then had an interview with a UK based recruiter which went well. After that I was scheduled for a technical interview with another network engineer and the manager, who were very friendly and topd me tjey would let me know the next steps via the recruiter.
After that, I did not hear anything for about a week, I contaced the recruiter to touch base but did not get an answer, I tried again one week later and again I was ignored.
I feel that it is qute unprofessional to not even give an applicant the courtesy of a short email advising you were unsucucesful if the candidate got to a third stage in the process. Especially after I sent 2 emails within 3 weeks.
It shows that once a company becomes a ”cool” place to work, candidates can be treated with no respect.

Colloquio
I initially applied for the position using their online application tool. Simple process that allows you to upload your resume and cover letter. You are asked 2 basic networking questions and then you are done.
I was then contacted via email by a Spotify recruiter named Krishana who setup a phone interview over Google hangouts. Krishana was very flexible in setting up the phone interview and asked some general HR questions as well as my current work experience. She then advised me of the process moving forward and let me know that I would be moving on to the next part of the interview which involved talking to some of the Network team members.
Another Google hangouts session was setup and the interview was focused on my technical background in networking and experience that I gained through recent projects. After that interview I spoke with a manager at Spotify who evaluated how I would fit into the culture and allowed me to ask questions pertaining to how things run at Spotify.
Once I completed that round of interviews Krishana advised me that I was going to be invited to the office in NYC for a tour and have a face to face interview with more members of the team. Initially they were going to fly me in to office from Canada but I was going to be in the NYC area so Krishana was able to accommodate my schedule and find a time that worked better for me.
The Spotify visit was awesome! The Spotify face to face interviews were more focused to what you as an individual are brining to the team and how you fit into the Spotify family. I was given the campus tour and was shown the IT room. The campus is really open and a very cool place to work. They have snacks and food everywhere which was a big change for me. I was also invited to eat lunch which was being catered by The California Pizza Kitchen (YUM!).
My final interview with Krishana was related to align the expectation of Spotify with my expectations of the role. I would have liked more information relating to salary and relocation package but it was still early in the process.
Sadly I was missing some experience for the specific role they are looking to fill but I was given the opportunity to have a feedback session and was advised that they are still interested in my for future roles. So BOO-YAH!
