Interviewed for a position at NSMB. Very friendly atmosphere. Had 3 rounds- first was an manuscript evaluation with a 2 hour turnaround time and turning in a written report. Second was a 1-1 with the senior editor with questions on my research experience and general interests. Third was 2 manuscript evaluations with a one hour turnaround time, followed by a discussion of my evaluations with the entire team. Though I didn't get the job, I thought the evaluation was fair and the process was interesting/thorough.

Do you think NSMB publishes broadly enough or should be more specialized? What is your opinion on open access? What is the role of a peer-review journal?
Applied the online through the workday platform. In the system, submit the assignment according the JD, which should discuss a recent paper which excites you in your field, and CV along with a cover letter including your background and motivation for the position.
