The first interview went well, and I really thought Staples sounded like a good fit for me. I was surprised with a 2-person interview on Teams. The originally scheduled interviewer made no mention of it. She made no attempt to chat while we waited for 2nd person to show up which was almost 10 mins. She also did not have my first name correct when communicating to me via email. The lack of detail was very concerning. The second representative asked all the questions, and they were pretty common. He did state that during back-to-school time period store managers are required to work 60-70 or more hours a week. That was a huge negative for me. I don’t feel quality of life is good working 7 days a week for 3-4 weeks. I asked do they allocate comp time. He hesitated and said he didn’t know. Huh? I took that as a no. I had mentioned earlier that working 70 hours when we spoke was a quality-of-life issue. At that point I was out on this job, and I think they knew that. The only question she asked was about what interested me in volunteering. I had to correct her that my original comment was different than what she asked. Lack of detail again. She would also kill her feed when I was responding to questions. If you're okay working 7 days a week in august and sept and not be compensated, then maybe this job can still work you.

Interview, then wait for three days to see if you are selected to talk to the district manager, then pass that and someone will talk to you about salary and job offer.
