      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Starbucks (Seattle, WA) nel mese di mar 2019

      Colloquio

I applied through the Starbucks Career portal (online) in January of 2019. A recruiter emailed me two months later to set up a 30 minute phone screen. Phone screen went well - the recruiter just focused on the preferred qualifications of the original job posting to see if I had extra shine for the job. He was friendly the entire process and told me he would recommend me for an in person interview, but also told me not to be discouraged if I wasn't selected. He told me that I would know within a few days if I was selected to come in for the in person interview. However, Snowmageddon 2019 caused MANY delays in this process. I don't know how snow affects people that can do their job remotely, but go figure, that is what happened. I was finally emailed about a week and a half later that I had been selected for the in person interview - which was a series of 30 to 45 minute interviews (1 on 1) with five different people across the multiple departments that the position works with. I had my in person interview about 2 weeks after this (so in total, a very long, drawn out process no thanks to the weather). I interviewed at Starbucks Support Center in Sodo (WA) and my first four interviews were great, albeit I tripped up on a few questions due to basic nerves, but nothing I thought totally disqualified me from being seriously considered. It was only later that I realized none of my interviewers were taking notes while we talked, leading me to believe they already knew who they wanted to hire. I was one of 5 final candidates for the position, of more than 140 applications, so I still feel special about making it that far. My last interview of the day (a three hour interview process) was what left me with a negative experience. My interviewer could not seem to stop staring at my chest during my interview. Let me add, I was wearing a suit jacket and dark shirt underneath, no low cut or anything. I thought I was crazy, but it continued throughout the 45 minutes. I left with a sinking feeling that apparently this still happens in the world. Immediately after I got home from the interview, I sent the recruiter an email asking for the contact info for the people I had spoken with so I might send a thank you (as you do). NOTHING. I heard nothing from my recruiter after several inquiries. They could have at least followed up for a simple request. About 4 weeks after I interviewed I received a "job is no longer available" letter from Starbucks. I was disturbed at the lack of contact from the company after I was scheduled for my in person interview, but I know other people have had positive, streamlined and efficient hiring with them, so my experience may have been entirely unique. Overall, a bit disappointed, but the job sounded super awesome. I wore a full suit to the interview (jacket, pants, bus. casual shirt). Probably could go business casual to corporate, as most people were wearing jeans and nicer shirts.
