I had 6 separate calls/sessions with the company; which is extensive in my experience. I was very impressed with the intentionality and thoughtfulness of the entire interview process. Although it is a lot, the process gave me the chance to also interview the company as well.

Applied on their website. Had an introduction call with a recruiter where we went over the position and company. He did call their company a “family” which can be a red flag depending on how you view it. After the call he said he would check with the hiring manager regarding next steps. I didn’t hear back for a week so I emailed him. He said that he was on vacation which was why he didn’t get back to me, and that they were going to pursue other candidates. Being on vacation isn’t an excuse to ghost candidates. I’d be more that okay if you reached out to me first regarding my candidacy. Another weird thing was that I got an auto generated email a few months later about the position and that it was closed.

First was a conversation with the recruiter. She scheduled me for 3 back-to-back interviews. Each interview was with 2 people. The first interview involved me describing how I would design an election machine (i.e. database design). The second interview involved me describing how I would design an elevator (i.e. OOP). The third interview was more about culture and the company.
I thought it was weird that the two technical interviews involved zero discussion of healthcare. It felt like test questions that a CS student fresh out of undergrad would be able to ace, but I did not do very well. I was not able to demonstrate any of the knowledge I have about health insurance.
I did appreciate that everyone I talked to was very professional and the interviews did go smoothly.
