Interview with store manager who said it was possible to get $12 for the position and then interviewed with DM who said that they were only offering $10.25 for a management position. Nice people, good environment but not enough to survive on for the heavy workload

I interview for "sales associate" in February 2012. I found that in the interview, it wasn't so much WHAT your answers were to the questions but HOW you answered them. The interviewer is looking for someone she/he can work with. Be professional but have fun. Wear something that shoes you have a sense of fashion. Be persistent! After I handed in my application I would call and ask for the store manager and inquire about the status of my application. After a week, I got called in for an interview. A few days after I got another call congratulating me with a job offer.
After 6 months of working there, I was promoted to MIT and quickly after that I was promoted to PT Assistant Manager. There wasn't much of an interview for the job since I was being promoted within the company. My Store Manager spent about 2 months with detailed training. After a couple months, my District Manager went over everything with me and made sure I understood how to handle all of the responsibilities of Management. And then a few months after that I was promoted to a FT Assistant Manager. No interview. Just an overview that came with a pay increase.

The interview questions are pretty basic; why did you apply, what do you know about style...
I'd say the most difficult questions were the scenario ones. ie: "what would you do if you caught an employee stealing/using their phone on the clock?" or, "how would you handle being in a situation where you have to multitask? ie: ringing up a customer while the phone is ringing and another customer is asking for help with a dressing room or getting something down" honest answers are the best answers. Don't answer too quickly. Really think about how you would handle it.
