      Colloquio per Prepress Operator

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Super Color Digital (Irvine, CA) nel mese di set 2014

      Colloquio

Applied via LinkedIn, received a phone call and setup an interview the same day. First impressions.... meh... Walked in the door, I was handed an application and I was told someone will be with me shortly. I attempted to make small talk (to make myself a little more comfortable) and I was ignored. This individual continued her private conversation with a coworker as I filled out my application uncomfortably. This had a direct effect on my overall perception of the company and led me to believe the work environment leans towards the unprofessional side. Initial interview went well. Briefly met a gentleman from the HR department on his way out and interviewed with the individual whom called me. Questions were simple and were mostly covered during our phone conversation. The position described to me was a Prepress Operator with the intent of promotion to Prepress Manager after 90day probationary period. Currently being in a management roll, the idea of stepping down, trusting the company, in hopes of reaching that carrot, did not sit well with me. Second part of interview consisted of technical testing of in-depth computer software knowledge and abilities. The computer setup was a MAC with a PC keyboard and a left-handed mouse (don't ask me why), so therefore shortcuts and any maneuverability were hindered. I was asked to do 2-3 actions in Adobe Illustrator, completed with no hesitation, only delayed due to the computer setup. One of the actions completed had an issue. The individual sitting with me, in a very unprofessional manner, pressed on about the issue and how he couldn't understand how I couldn't see it for about 3-5 minutes. This was a very uncomfortable 3-5 minutes and again led me to believe the overall work environment was not only unprofessional but probably consisted of unhappy individuals. When I finally saw the issue, Adobe Illustrator not being my #1 go to software, I was unable to find the correct action to resolve the issue. The individual showed me the correct action and abruptly ended the interview. I walked away from this interview realizing the kind of company I do not wish to work for. Granted there were only a few employees that struck me as unhappy and unprofessional but those feelings and attitudes have a great influence over the broad work environment, as well as, directly affect the public face of the company.

      Domanda 1
