After passing the initial screening process you receive an email inviting you to a hiring open house. Sounds exciting huh? In this “open house hiring process” it’s a long wait before you’re called. It feels like waiting at a doctors office because they schedule everyone at the same time. I was seen about 3hrs later. I was called into a room with the door closed interviewed by one lady. She was pleasant yet very rude professionally. Why I state ‘rude professionally’ because my interview was being interrupted every few minutes with her phone. I understand that she was attending to business at the terminal (I was interviewed at their headquarters at JFK) but I think she should have temporarily put someone else in charge or communicate with who she worked with that she would be out for the day doing interviews. – But that was not the case. She kept saying sorry but as pleasant and professional I am – Miss clearly I was on your time. I didn’t get a chance to have a proper interview. She seem very bothered by what was going on at the terminal and that threw her off to only asked me a few questions and quickly dismissed me. I briefly stated my qualifications and how I could be an asset to the cooperation but that answer didn’t phase her at all. After the interview was over , she stated that I will receive an email between Monday &Wednesday in regards to a second interview or come for paper work and quickly jot down a few notes as I walked away. I didn’t know what to think or do. Because I felt so disrespected and this whole thing felt unprofessional. A few days later I did receive an email but it was not what I was expecting. I was not selected to proceed further in the selection process. Are you kidding me?? I think I was not given a far chance to properly present myself in the interview and I think I deserve a second interview. If I am deciphering their hiring process correctly. They have already screen me prior to the interview this is why I was invited to a one-on-one interview. All I had to do now was given a fair chance to have a proper interview but that didn’t happen.. 🤷‍♀️ Therefore: Be aware of the wait time to be seen for an interviewer. And secondly, try not to be interviewed by the lady with the short cut blonde hair and glasses.
