I had one interview with a recruiter over Zoom. The interview itself was fine - mostly questions about my background and experience and how that would make me a successful candidate for the role. However, the discussion on compensation was disappointing and I found the salary ranges they post for roles to be a bit disingenuous. It seemed to me they were not willing to offer anything more than the mid-point of the range and justified that by the fact they offer full-time WFH. Full-time WFH is a great benefit, yes, but you shouldn't waste people's time who apply for a job based on a certain salary range when you're unwilling to pay it.

Interview process was open and just as the recruiter outlined in the initial phone screen. Overall, the process was methodical and informative. Went through three rounds including a final round with the SVP of the group.

Unsolicited contact by company recruiter. Recruiter was very excited about my experience and skills match after 1 hour discussion. Planned to present me as top candidate to hiring manager but a bit concerned they may not be able to afford me. Asked me to complete job application. Promised follow-up and even went above stating Synchrony is a very respectful company and fast on feedback. They really do care. I had to reach out a week later, stated still hasn't met with hiring manager. Never heard from again.
If you position yourself as a respectful company in a unsolicited recruiting process and fail to follow through after committing to, how does that speak to a candidate considering employment at your company? Don't think I'd take a call from this company again.
