I wish companies like Synchrony would stop wasting applicants’ time when their ultimate plan is to hire internally. The hiring process required an assignment, which was given less than 24 hours before meeting with the hiring manager. In hindsight, this now seems like an insidious way to collect ideas under the guise of a job interview. A red flag was that the hiring manager didn’t talk much about the role or the company, or give me the opportunity to ask questions. Another person I interviewed with was also extremely rude during the interview. Overall, not a great experience and I will not recommend Snychrony to my network.
