Occurred in a few stages like most interviews these days.
1) Screening call. Just a recruitment rep asking about general experience, why you want the job/Syngenta and starting date. Anything too technical they might not understand, but just be general and stick to what they're looking for in the job description. Took about 10 minutes.
2) Short call/chat with Team Lead/area specialist to make sure your experiences fit the role. This was just a casual conversation where they asked me to go over my CV and what I thought made me right for the job. They asked for more details in a few area. It really was just a conversation. Took about 30 minutes.
3) The 'big' formal interview. This was an invite to an Interview day but I was unable to attend in person so they were nice enough to allow me to take the interview(s) virtually. Interviews are split into 2 parts:
Part 1 - HR/Personal interview. Competency based questions almost exclusively. They were competency based generally about the job role. They did contradict/probe further based on my answers too.
Part 2- Technical interview. This will be questions based more on the role you apply for. I have given examples of ones I was asked in my interview for a protein scientist but yours might be different.
After this I got an offer a few days later. It was a pretty long process but they were generally good at communicating and willing to work around you (ie. I had to do a virtual interview and move my start date back a month).
