      Colloquio per Applications Instructor

      3 gen 2015
      Dipendente anonimo
      Offerta accettata
      Esperienza negativa

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso TLG Learning nel mese di feb 2014

      Colloquio

Submitted resume, and took 2-3 months to hear from them. Got called in with others (who applied within a week of being called in) and watched a presentation by the Director of Training. After the presentation, each person was pulled aside and asked what they thought of the presentation and if they still wanted to continue with the "interview process", and what qualities/experience you could bring to the company. The Director of Training provided her contact information, I could call at anytime to ask questions, and said that an email would come to me in the next day and explain what I would have to do next for the interview process - teaching to the other job candidates and less than a handful of employees from the company. Emphasizing to tell about what will be taught, teach the lesson, and review what was covered. Went back in 2 days later with the other candidates, and we presented the same lesson on Absolute and Relative Functions (in the order in which we showed up in). After that, was told that a decision was going to be made the next day. Found out that myself and another candidate would need to come back in to teach a lesson about the Order of Operations. Went back in, we both taught the lesson to employees who had not seen us teach yet.

      Domanda 1

Wish a confirmation of them receiving my resume was sent, and had given an estimate as to when they'd respond back with possible interview. With the persons who were nervous during the teaching portion, it was uncomfortable to watch others in their unsuccessful teaching attempt. I guess "group interviewing" is the "it" thing these days, but felt awkward sitting and waiting through all of the people to finish (even though some people know they bombed it, and everyone had to watch those who did well). For those going over time and not getting through all the material, the employees kind of put them on the spot even more by interrupting "how much time do we have left"? These people (who were trying so hard to get a job) could just tell they were done and not making it on further. They felt crushed.

      Colloquio

The process was very intense. The first interview was a large group interview of half a dozen candidates and a few managers from TLG, where they outlined what the job was, how much it paid, etc. The second interview was a panel interview, with questions focusing mainly on my teaching and presentation experience. At the end of this interview, they told me they liked me, and then gave me a choice of 3 topics related to Word or Excel, which I had to come back to give a 5 minute lesson the next day. The 3rd interview was the five minute lesson, which I gave to the manager and 3 other random employees in their computer lab. The final and 4th interview was the one where the manager offered the job.

      Domanda 1

Choose 1 of 3 topics from Excel or Word, and prepare a lesson that will wow us tomorrow when you return.
