I truly am still working to recover from this traumatic hiring process. All in all, I would say the process lasted close two months. Started with a screening call with a recruiter, performance task, 1st interview, 2nd interview which was a “culture fit” and then they asked for references and called them. Then decided to go with another candidate. When I asked the recruiters about this, they said I was not rejected, will be held for future consideration as they call the references of all finalist but may not submit an offer. What made that style particularly horrifying is that they require you to provide the reference of your direct leadership at your current job. This meant I must notify my boss about my current plans which is fine with the assumption I was actually the final candidate at TNTP. That’s not actually how this organization works and it is a terrible practice for the livelihood of their applicants. Like many other reviewers, I am completely turned off by this organization and it’s practices. I wasted a tremendous about of time, was not properly notified about their style of hiring and was dragged through references only to get a rejection letter from a recruiter. If this was any inclination of what it’s like internally, I am thankful for the rejection.
