      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso TUI Group (Luton, East of England, England) nel mese di feb 2017

      Colloquio

I applied online on the TUI website and after a fairly long wait, I received an email to take the online numerical and verbal reasoning tests (SHL). After another fairly lengthy wait, I received an email to take a video interview provided by "LaunchPad". The questions were fairly basic and straightforward, which was good considering there was only 90 seconds to respond to each question. There were 4 questions asked, with questions being along the lines of: "why TUI?", "what's an event that has impacted the entire travel sector recently?", "describe a time you failed", and describe what you expect to do in your first year on the finance programme. The LaunchPad website says you can have as many attempts at the question as you want, however, TUI have this disabled and you only have ONE attempt. After a 2/3 week wait, I was asked to attend the assessment centre in Luton. The assessment centre has 4 main exercises. The day started with several presentations by the programme coordinators, before we were given a generic icebreaker exercise. The first exercise was a presentation the candidate prepared beforehand and then delivered to your two interviewers - they then ask some questions about it. My main bit of advice is to include as much hypothetical financial analysis as possible - discuss RoI, for example. They then undertake a fairly standard interview, asking questions like: "describe a time you had to influence someone", and "what qualities make a good leader". The next exercise was a paired exercise looking at a cruise ship case study where you and your partner had to cut the potential investment plans to a point where it was within budget. Be wary, once they deem you have got the plan to budget, they suddenly reduce the budget. The final exercise was a group exercise of 7 people, where you had to coordinate the hypothetical introduction of 2 brand new cruise ships to Thomson cruises. You have 15 minutes to sculpt your ideas - the brief has pages and pages of information, so do take the necessary time to study and remember the content as well as possible - 25 minutes for the group discussion and 10 to present the group findings.
