I applied towards the middle of December, and was interviewed at the beginning of January after following up on my application via phone with Human Resources. Upon job offer, I needed to complete a drug test and orientation.
Orientation consisted of a video and assessment of the content in the video--which included workplace situations and an overall negative view of people approaching workers with petitions, as well as people trying to start unions. Signing petitions and joining unions were strongly discouraged in their workers.
Previous work experience is not a factor in your starting pay--you will receive the standard base pay for your position. I received the $8.00 base pay for my position, even though I had many years of previous retail experience.
I did not get to start working until the end of the second week of January, as I needed to wait for my drug test to clear and complete my orientation-- all of which was paid for.
