Only spoke with the recruiter who was very nice and transparent about where the company was in their search to fill the manager role. Asked a few clarifying questions regarding my experience before sharing that I was the best fit thus far. The recruiter shared the next FIVE steps in the interview process which turned me off a bit, but I was still open before following up and sharing the team decided to go with a candidate who was further along in the interview process despite me being "the best fit thus far"..
