power off machine disconnect power cord opencase remove air/cooling shroud heatsink removal use paper tower and rubbing alcohol the old thermal paste processor removal install new processor (be aware of checking the triangle mark direction to confirm installation correct) apply thermal paste install heatsink install air/cooling shroud close case connect power cord
