Fairly normal interview process to begin with. Just a check on your skills, experience and expectations. A couple of standard how do you deal with this scenario type question as is standard for this sort of role. It was actually refreshing laid back.
Until I got the offer. This is were things got weird.
I was offered the job by the recruiter via a phone call which I said was great and when could I expect to get a copy of the contract to review. The recruiter flat out told me if I did not accept then and there on the call they "did not want to waste the time" drawing up a contract. If that is not a massive red flag I don't know what is.
I agreed anyway saying it was just basic due diligence to read a contract before signing. After dragging their feet to send me a contract last thing on a Friday before a public holiday weekend I thought I'd have time to sign and return the contract to them on the following Tuesday but before I had a chance they rescinded the offer citing I had taken to long to respond despite the fact it had not even been an entire business day...
Something is just off about this place. I feel like I dodged a bullet. Easily one of the most unprofessional interactions I've ever had.
