Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Tesla (Chicago, IL) nel mese di lug 2019
Colloquio
The process took a bit over a month and involved two days of video interviews. My first contact was an email from a recruiter who received my resume 1 week after applying and he quickly forwarded my information to the team I wanted to apply for. Each day consisted of 3 interviews that each lasted roughly an hour. I received an email the day after my second set of interviews informing me that I received the offer.
Domande di colloquio [8]
Domanda 1
Explain why someone might want to transform a 3D stress state and view it in its Eigen-basis.
Assume you have a horizontal cantilevered rectangular beam of length L along its length, width w and height h. Assume that an object of mass M and velocity v impacts the beam along its length and sticks. Draw the stress-strain curve for this situation.
Assume you have special sensors directly below the frunk of the model 3 that should not be damaged. If you were to load the frunk, what design choices might you make to ensure the frunk has as much rigidity as possible and minimize deflection?
Assume you are given a rod with an infinite length. You have at most a square area of side length 20cm as the face of this rod. What shape/changes would you choose to maximize the torsional stiffness of this rod?
For a sample of 6061 Aluminum, draw the true stress vs true strain and engineering stress vs engineering strain diagram assuming the rod is stretched one dimensionally until failure.
The Tesla vehicles use electric motors which are capable of producing a large amount of torque. Newton's 3rd law says that a counter torque must exist, where on the body of the vehicle might one expect this to be? If you were a design engineer, how would you fortify mounting points to handle this torque?
