Colloquio
Screening interview by a HR VP based in the US over screen-share w/cameras on. Overall feel of the interview was very uncomfortable. Interviewer seemed uncomfortable and/or annoyed to be there. The interviewer's facial expression was off almost immediately upon the interview beginning. Questioning was very basic and unimaginative. Combining this with the overall hostile demeanor made for an uncomfortable experience. This is one of those companies where leadership is selected for youth/top tier education/intelligence so invariably the hiring managers are multiple decades younger than many applicants. How can a 20 something with approx. 5 year's experience effectively manage a seasoned professional with 25 year's experience? With this model, they exploit the youth and energy of these bright kids for rapid growth and when the company is eventually sold or goes public, these kids are jettisoned for more experienced management hires that actually know what they're doing. Same model used in some well known UK based cyber/data companies that have been involved in controversy re. business and accounting practices.
