I stopped by the local Body Shop I go to myself and handed my CV. I was told that there were an opening and without an interview or anything I was directly called in the next day (which was a Sunday) for a trial day. I was asked to dress in all black on the day. I worked for 2.5 hours from 14:00 to 16:30. I did a lot of traffic-stopping and attracted a lot of customers. Some of them didn't buy what was on sale, but they still stopped by the shop and most of them left the shop buying one or two things at least. In total I sold 4 items that they asked me to sell, as well as 1 loyalty card (which I was told to do for only half an hour - I don't think that they normally sell loyalty cards that frequently!) Funny thing was, there was no one apart from me and the manager working on the shop so I strongly believe that they were short on staff for Sunday and literally called me in to fill up the gap. At the end of the day, I didn't get much feedback and she didn't observe what I was doing at all (she hadn't even seen the 4 items sold... so I actually think I probably had sold more than 4 and she just missed them!). She called me to stop by the next day, and we had like a 10 min talk. She told me that she was impressed with my performance and they should contact me by the end of that week if I was successful. Impressed but no offer came. Nothing happened. I just wasted my Sunday for something that wasn't worth it.

I was asked a few basic questions by phone and then asked to come in for a laid back face-to-face interview. I was then asked to come back for the shop floor trial with the other interview candidates where we had to perform a series of tasks. It took them 3 weeks to send me a rejection email which I thought was very poor.
