When they need to fill a position, they usually try to move pretty fast. A colleague tipped me off that there would be an opening soon, so I cold-called the editor and asked about job opportunities like I didn't know anything and we had an interview within two days. It was only one interview, and it involved the editor and publisher, who are both very nice. They will ask about your strengths and weaknesses, but they won't nail you with many hard-hitting questions, if any at all. For me, it did help that I had an interview at a well-known newspaper at the time, so they were already familiar with me work. Four days after the interview, I was given a job offer. I started two weeks later to finish with my current employer at the time.
