Colloquio
The interview began with a 30-minute phone call with a recruiter to get a feel for my skills and experience. The recruiter then scheduled a call with a hiring manager for 1 week later. She mostly asked me questions about my experience, what kind of work I've been doing, how I solved certain problems, etc. All the questions were pretty open-ended. I answered most of them just by referencing relevant events in my work history. The call ended rather abruptly when she had to go to another meeting, so I didn't get a chance to ask any of my own questions. I sent her a list of follow-up questions but she never responded.
The recruiter then scheduled a 1-hour on-site interview for 1 week later. This consisted of two 30-minute sessions in a room with two other people, both asking me questions the whole time. Again, most of the questions tried to establish my skills and expertise. And again, I wasn't given much time to ask my own questions.
Then I was asked to return on-site a few days later for another 1-hour session, this time more interactive. I was in a room with two senior developers. They drew a block-level architecture diagram and asked how and where I'd write automated tests for various scenarios. I used the whiteboard to illustrate some ideas and define some terms. Again, I drew on previous experience so this was pretty easy. I did get a chance to ask my own questions though, and even offered suggestions for improvements on their end.
The recruiter got back to me with an offer a few days later.
Domande di colloquio [1]
Domanda 1
Given the following block-level architecture diagram (drawn on whiteboard, resembled 3-tier service-oriented architecture), how would you test <this scenario>?
I applied for a position online. I was contacted a week or two later, and I had an interview for that position. It became clear that I did not have some of the skills they were looking for in that position, so the recruiter found a better fit for me. I had a phone interview a week later. It was a "getting to know you" type interview that lasted 30 minutes or so. Standard fare, tell me about your experiences, why are you leaving your current job, etc. The following week I had a video chat interview. This lasted a little over an hour, and was with 4 people. 2 for 30 minutes, then another 2 for the last 30 minutes, with a little overlap. This interview was more technical. Several questions about the java collections framework, as well as more in-depth questions about my experience.
