I applied online, but also knew someone in the office and let them know I was interested in the position. HR contacted me via email and we set up a day and time for the interview. The day of the interview I met with the head of HR and the Director of Sales for the interview. I think I was too comfortable and had not done enough research on their sales/etc. But they were very nice.
