The interview process involved an e-mail screen with two quick questions to confirm that I was ok with the hours and compensation of this position. Three weeks later, I received an invitation for a 30-minute phone interview. The phone interview took place two days later. The interview consisted of questions about my work history and experiences as well as an explanation of the job. The person interviewing me was kind and happy to talk to me about this new position as well as what The Nature Conservancy organization does as a whole. Almost one month later, I received an e-mail explaining that I did not get the position. They explained that the reason it took so long was because of a very large pool of applicants.
Almost a month after this, I received an e-mail from the person I did a phone interview with. She had run across a similar position that was posted for a different organization, and was thoughtful enough to let me know about it. That was a nice gesture!
