      Colloquio

I saw an ad in that the Salvation Army was hiring and looking for a part-time driver and i applied that morning.Well i got a call a week later and was asked if the next day would be fine for an interview i answered yes even though i had plans the next day (If you applied for a job and got an interview and was asked if tomorrow was fine say Yes it will show intrest). I went ahead and did some research of the company on the internet that night (research the companys objective maybe a little history don't study too hard remember interview is tomorrow or if a day or a week until interview sudy it's a plus). The interview for the part-time driver was only one interview i myself thinking a one on one interview but when i walked through the door i found out it was a group of 5 people conducting the interview (remain calm don't freak out show confidence). I was asked a variety of questions about my skills, work history, why i resigned my last job, was i able to carry over a 100lbs(Salvation Army excepts donations that may be beds, couches, dressers,...etc well over a 100lbs somtimes) I went through the interview like a hot knife through butter...it was smooth i even made all of them laugh with my humor(only be funny when you know the person or persons have a sense of humor and it's all in the timing) The people conducting the interview where the captain(female), Driver supervisor(male) Youth director(female) H.R.(male) H.R.(female) The captain was and is very sweet she was fair and her questions were tough but i managed to get by, The driver supervisor was and is tough his questions were very easy and firm i wanted him to keep asking me the questions, The youth director was gentle and her questions were more about my history and skills...very easy questions, The H.R. wasn't asking questions but feeding me answers for all the questions i wanted to ask before even givin the chance...telling me you know wages, hours, benifits, things of that nature. At the end at most interviews the last question should be do you have any questions(dont be afraid to ask a question it will again show that you have intrest and your serious for the job). Like for example when i was asked that question i asked "If hired and a full-time position is open in the later future if ever would i have to turn in a inhouse application or would it be offered to me" There answer "Given to me" depending ofcourse on the quality of my work, attendence, myself. The offices are well maintained and the work culture is spiritual, kind, fun, well maintained, and a good cause.
