Given a at home coding test after initial phone screen. Code test is just a typing test as the questions are more like a college exam with easy questions. This test is filtering out talented developers. After the take home I was ghosted for several days and then rejected. This company doesn't know how to hire and the fact that they pay for the service to provide this test tells candidates they don't care about their employees. Suggestion: stop using this hazing process to hire and use the money saved to give your staff a raise.

Few days later, I took an 1.5 hour online assessment using devskillers which was pretty easy. After that, I did not hear from HR for a few days and later found out from my corporate recruiter the initial salary range communicated by my recruiter to HR as well as my direct answer of salary range requirement during my initial HR call was not within the position's salary range. So why waste candidate's time and ask to complete the online assessment when the job was never a match in the first place.
