The entire interview process was very strange. The recruiter was an hour late for the phone screen and didn’t let me know. Then on interview day, the hiring manager showed up late and asked very vague general questions about my work. There were a few red flags - 1. how impersonal the whole process was 2. the lack of personality the interviewer showed throughout 3. the language barrier between myself and the interviewer. Based on this experience, I am clueless to how TikTok is achieving the success they are having and I will not apply again.

most of them speak mandarin during interview

They arranged 3 rounds of interviews with all team members, not the hiring manager. I felt like it was not the typical process because one of them said they were changing the direction of this role.

A really technical case and how to solve the pain point.
There are in total 4rounds including 2 rounds with senior peers and 1 round with +1 and round with HR, not that difficult. But I think the experience match is most important……..
